A wedding photographer’s job is by no means an easy one. For Indian weddings which are usually among the most colorful and ceremoniously packed up, the photographer’s task becomes a Herculean one. The specific conditions of lighting and exposure apart, at an Indian wedding, the photographer has to cover many different ceremonies all of which are considered important.

One of the reasons why this task becomes so daunting is because of the sheer confusion that usually exists in most Indian weddings. First of all, there are simply too many relatives and all of them are important, this means that the photographer has to constantly be on alert. Sometimes the photographer may be expected to be in more than one place at a time.

If you have a large family and want to cover as many of your relatives in the photos then it is a good idea to appoint somebody to become the photographer’s assistant. It makes sense that somebody from the family who knows the people be a part of this duo.

Another way around this is to give the photographer a list of people but usually this will also create some confusion. If you can afford it, hiring more than one photographer will also work out well, this way you can assign the photographers specific things to cover. This strategy can really work out well if you have some amateur photographers in the family who should be assigned with taking photos which don’t require a professional photographer.

Last but not the least, do your research before you hire a photographer, there are many experienced professionals who take a lot of pride in their work, don’t rush into hiring one just because you can. Photos are a wonderful way of telling the stories of your wedding and a good photographer with the right directions can build you a time machine from photos.
